Behind the Scenes: Mother's Day Photoshoot
This year for Mother’s Day, we wanted to do something special to celebrate and honor our first best friend, so we decided to invite some friends over for a themed photoshoot and gift them with some personalised jewelry to show our appreciation.
During the photoshoot, we asked each of them some questions about motherhood.
Sylvia & Ayla
We were inspired by Sylvia’s genuine love and devotion as a mother, which was why we knew we had to invite her for this year's Mother's Day Photoshoot. Her precious 6-month-old daughter, Ayla, has an infectious smile and such playful innocence, making her an instant darling for everyone on set that day.
Q: How has your view on the world changed since becoming a mom?
I think I’ve gotten so much more empathetic and emotional, especially when it comes to children. Anytime I’d read negative news related to children across the world, my first thought just goes “What if it's Ayla?” and I get really emotional.
Q: What advice would you give to Ayla when she gets older?
I would want her to be happy and be able to do whatever she wants. Just embrace life and experience everything the world has to offer.
Sylvia is wearing a permanent bracelet in her initial and Alya’s birth charm, along with a birth flower pendant necklace/charm in both their birth months.
Cindy & Amias
Our dear friend Cindy and her adorable three-year-old son Amias were the inspiration for this year’s campaign. Cindy's thriving career as a lawyer is a testament of her dedication to her hard work. However, the journey of being a working mom comes with its own set of challenges, balancing between the two roles is no easy feat.
Q: What do you think are the hardest and best parts of motherhood?
The hardest part is learning how to be the best parent possible, especially in difficult situations, or handling internal and external criticisms. The best part is definitely the emotional connection you get with your children. Our love for each other is everything, just him coming up to me, hugging and kissing me, saying “I love you mommy” could take all my troubles away.
Q: What advice would you give to working mothers? / How do you maintain your individual identity while being a mom?
Be kind, and be proud of your identity outside of being a mom. Your child looks up to the ability to self-love, they need a happy mother who prioritizes herself, not a perfect one. When you’re with your child, make an effort to be present and engaged, playing is the best way to enjoy time together and strengthen your bond.
Cindy is seen wearing matching Custom Necklaces made specifically for her and Amias, and a baby initial “A” bracelet for Amias.
Sarah & Maggie
Sarah, co-founder of Sachelle Collective, is joined by her beloved mom, Maggie, for our Mother’s Day Photoshoot. Sarah credits her mom for her success and achievements, her support and advice is what motivated Sarah on her path as an entrepreneur. We sat the duo down and asked them some questions.
Q: When it comes to motherhood, do you have any regrets, or things you'd do differently if you could go back?
Sarah’s Mom: One of my biggest regrets is not spending more time with my children when they were young. I was consumed by my career and often missed out on important moments in their lives. If I could turn back time, I would have spent more time with them. I know that it would have made a significant difference in their lives and our relationship.
Q: What’s the biggest life lesson your mom taught you?
Sarah: She taught me the importance of managing my finances from a young age. It’s definitely shaped me into a responsible and financially secure adult, but more importantly, it allowed me to pursue my passions without the heavy burden of financial anxieties.
