Behind the Design: The Journey to Sachelle Paws

The entire Sachelle Collective team is made up of devoted furbaby parents. Our team chat is 90% pet photos, we are constantly swapping stories and bonding over the everyday joys (and struggles!) of pet parenthood in the studio. It was that shared obsession across our whole team that truly brought this idea to life.

This project grew from a place of deep frustration that I think many of you will understand. As a dog mom, I absolutely hated seeing cheap metal hardware tarnish and leave nasty stains on Mochi’s beautiful cream coat. It just felt wrong. We spend so much time ensuring our human jewelry is tarnish-free and skin-safe; why were we settling for less for our best friends?

We naïvely thought, "We know jewelry, this will be easy." It wasn’t. It took us a full year of back-and-forth to get this right, and the road was paved with mishaps.

We started this project from scratch with hand-sketched designs and rendering every detail ourselves, sampled a gazillion vendors and tested prototypes on our own pets to see what would actually hold up to real "dog life".

But bringing those sketches to life was a different beast. At one point, we got a sample back and realized the holes we’d punched in the leather were far too small for the pins. We had to go back to the drawing board and completely re-engineer the charms to have a specific flatback design so they would sit flush and secure. Even the strap itself was a journey. We initially designed this incredibly intricate, fancy strap. But when we tested it on our own dogs, we realized that "fancy" isn't always functional. For a piece meant to be worn every day, we opted for a simpler, more versatile design that was much more "Sachelle".

Designing this collection felt less like product development and more like writing a love letter to our best friends. The team sat down to brainstorm and sketch out these charms with one goal in mind: to capture the essence of every happy wag, quiet cuddle, and fleeting moment we’ve shared with them. Every piece represents a memory or a milestone, a tiny gold fragment of life built together.

We wanted every single charm to play a part in telling your pet's unique story. Whether it's the "Teddy Bear" for the ultimate cuddle bug or the "Sun" for the one who lights up your life, we obsess over every detail. The result is a collection of charms that lets our most loyal sidekick wear their legacy boldly.

This isn’t just a new launch; it’s a celebration for the soulmate-level bond we share with our dogs. We know that being a "dog mom" or "dog dad" is a commitment to providing the absolute best for our furry shadows.

To celebrate this new chapter, we want to meet the pups who inspired it all! In honor of the Sachelle Paws launch, we’ll be hosting a Doggy Picnic on March 28th.
